Sunset Gold Irregular is the warmest piece we supply: Portuguese natural limestone from Central Portugal, delivered with a Natural Split-Face surface for facades and wall cladding. Its golden ground carries naturally oxidised markings, so the tonal variation runs from honey and straw through to deeper ochre within the same pallet.

A warm golden tone on a broken face

This is the property to design around. Because the warm range is wide, a Sunset Gold wall is animated: pieces stand apart from their neighbours, and the elevation changes noticeably as the light moves across it, becoming deepest in low evening sun. The Irregular Format reinforces that reading, since pieces are typically around 25–35 cm across with varying dimensions and shapes and no repeating course, so tone and outline both change from piece to piece.

It suits elevations where warmth is the intention rather than a side effect — sun-facing façades, garden and pool surrounds, terrace and courtyard walls, entrance walls, and interior walls that need a natural counterweight to pale plaster, oak or concrete.

Sunset Gold Irregular compared with Sunset Beige

If that warm animation is more than a project needs, Sunset Beige Irregular is the quieter answer: same collection, same Format and same surface, but a noticeably narrower and softer tonal band. That single comparison is usually enough to settle the choice.

Thicknesses and pallet coverage for Sunset Gold

Known indicative pallet yields are about 25, 20 and 15 m² for 2–3, 4–6 and 6–8 cm, with an average pallet weight of 1,300–2,500 kg; every thickness option is listed in the technical specifications table. Because the tonal spread is wide, mixing pieces from several pallets during setting out is normally discussed with an experienced stone installer, and representative samples or a project mock-up may help confirm how the range distributes over a full wall.

Limestone or travertine for a warm facade

If you are weighing this stone against travertine, our limestone and travertine comparison covers the differences in surface and weathering. The rest of the range is on the Sunset Gold collection page, and you can contact us at any point.
