Light ivory limestone with refined texture and quiet architectural presence.
Luminous Ivory is the palest colour family in the range: light ivory to cream limestone with soft, even tonal variation. It is offered in Irregular and Rectangular formats with a natural split-face surface, and as a Rectangular hand-chiseled version, for facades, garden and boundary walls and interior feature walls where a calm, light surface is wanted.

ExploreLuminous Ivory is our lightest family of Portuguese natural limestone from Central Portugal: a pale ivory stone for facades and wall cladding. The character of the collection comes from the tone itself. Because the ground colour is light, the stone returns rather than absorbs daylight, and a wall built from it stays bright through the day and keeps a quiet, even presence instead of reading as a dark mass. Natural tonal variation is present but narrow, which is why the collection suits projects where the stone should give texture without competing with the architecture around it.
That light ground also changes how texture is perceived. On darker stone a broken face produces strong shadow; on Luminous Ivory the same relief reads as fine grain and soft modelling. It is a useful property on large elevations, in courtyards and light wells where reflected light matters, and in interiors where a stone wall needs to feel calm at close range.
Choosing within the collection
Luminous Ivory is deliberately structured around two decisions rather than three different stones, which makes specification straightforward.
The first decision is Format — how the wall is composed. Luminous Ivory Irregular is supplied with varying dimensions and shapes, typically around 25–35 cm across, and is laid without a repeating horizontal course, so the finished elevation reads as one continuous stone surface. Luminous Ivory Rectangular is coursed in heights of 10, 15 or 20 cm with lengths up to 60 cm agreed to suit the project, so horizontal lines run through and the wall is read as coursed and ordered. Both share the same Natural Split-Face surface, so this is genuinely a question of composition, not of material or colour.
The second decision is Surface, and it applies to the coursed format. Luminous Ivory Hand-Chiseled Rectangular shares the coursed heights and lengths of the rectangular piece but has a hand-worked face instead of a natural cleaved break. The relief is shallower and more even, so shadows are shorter, the ivory tone stays dominant and the surface is particularly comfortable where it will be seen and touched at close distance — interiors, stair and reception walls, sheltered entrances.
Set out plainly: choose Irregular for a dispersed, natural composition, Rectangular for a coursed layout with a split face, and Hand-Chiseled Rectangular when you want that same coursed layout with a finer, more even surface. Comparing the two surfaces on representative samples is usually the fastest way to settle it, since the difference is in relief and grain rather than in colour.
Specification and next steps
Known indicative pallet yields are about 25, 20 and 15 m² for 2–3, 4–6 and 6–8 cm, with an average pallet weight of 1,300–2,500 kg; every thickness option is listed in the technical specifications table. Final setting out is agreed with the project designer and an experienced stone installer, representative samples or a project mock-up may help confirm appearance, and fixing method and joint design depend on the substrate and project conditions.
If the split-face surface is new to you, our architectural guide to split-face limestone cladding explains how the texture behaves in different light and which formats suit which intent. When you have areas and a thickness in mind, contact us and we will come back to you on your specific elevation.
